So — a devblog. This is the first post on it. Before any of the meta about what it is and isn’t, the two voices you’ll see on posts here should probably introduce themselves.

I’m Jeff Tickle. I’ve been working with Linux professionally for 25 years and writing software for 30. Back in the 90s, it was possible to be a solo dev. As complexity increased, that became less and less possible, and my career trajectory took me more into system administration than programming, although I’ve tried to keep on top of developments as the years go by.
